Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Just curious........what is everyone doing? Leave model designation alone. Model designation painted in exterior color. Model designation delete. Edited by - Atlas_Croc on 09/29/2005 10:34:09 AM

POST 3Original post

left it all alone/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/sad_smile.gif

POST 4Original post

Replaced it with 'Carrera GT' no just kidding, left it alone...

POST 5Original post

I left it alone. When I got my Boxster in 99 the dealer was deleting the model designation because they had problems with breakage. The new designations seem more sturdy and the area seems a little bare without something. There was a photo on one of the other boards of a Carrera with the painted designation and it didn't seem to do much for the car.

POST 6Original post

I gave serious consideration to 'delete' option but finally decided to leave it alone. I deleted it on my Cayenne which I ordered before launch, and now every time I get out of it someone asks me what it is. That was fun for awhile but now it is a pain in the a___! For the most part that is why I did not delete the Cayman S designation.

POST 7Original post

You know thinking about this I'm a little suprised that Porsche doesn't have a 'gold' plated option like Lexus, Mercedes and others, especially given that many of the old 356 logos were gold not silver or painted. As an example on our old Lexus the dealership wanted $750 for the 'gold kit', I bought the kit off the internet for $120 (probably still too expensive) and put it on myself because it looked good with a black car and saved some $$$. I just realized I haven't seen gold emblems on Porsches for quite some time...

POST 8Original post

leave it, leave it, leave it, dont what to do just leave it...

POST 9Original post

I like the logos, I left 'em. I even got extra logos in the door sills!

POST 10Original post

Great and'funny' responses..... I've pretty much come full circle........at first I was going to do a model delete (first pissed off atthe name), then maybe paint to exterior (OK, I can live with the name if it isn't so flashy back there), now I think I will actually leave it alone as I almost like the way it breaks up the rear hatch expanse and adds a little flare. Crazy talk or what?

POST 11Original post

im going for silver so it doesnt bother me at all, but i dont like it on some colors, yellow, seal grey

POST 12Original post

SIlver car, regular badge, 'S' in red to match the brakes. JHellow

POST 14Original post

They did this on some of the 996 C4S's. My dealer actually suggested this, right after they talked me out of spending the extra for GT Silver. JHellow

POST 15Original post

My personal opinion - the red S looks good on the C4S badge, but not so good on the Boxster S and/or Cayman S badge. Again, just my preference YMMV...

POST 16Original post

I would agree......the C4S badge was an all-in-one if memory serves me right and looked good......I think a red S for the Cayman badge would not be so great. The dealer had great taste with the GT Silver, but did a 180 on the badge.

POST 17Original post

I'm going to keep it. Then when I take delivery, heat it up and take it off with dental floss like I did on all my other Porsches. I then will install my 'C7S' custom decalto the rear (same font). I'm not a big fan of the Cayman name. 'C7S' just sounds faster and better. They should of kept that name.

POST 18Original post

ChrisMillion, are you sure you got logos on the door sills? My aluminum door sills were not accepted by Porsche. Did you get lighted door sills?

POST 19Original post

Leaving mine alone Like the little splash it gives on the rear.

POST 20Original post

The car is speed yellow, as is the model designation.

POST 21Original post

I deleted it. Whenever I wash my Carrera, it's always a challenge to get all the wax wiped out of the logo. And I think the 'S' is too gaudy - looks sophomoric to me.
