i have recently had an issue with my ignition which is now resolved, its now all back together and working fine apart from the rear brake lights are continuously on when the car is running. anybody experienced this before? i am thinking it must be the brake light switch but before i rush in and buy a replacement thought id throw it out to the group. Thanks in advance Welshpete

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

could be a host of things, including - fitting a single light bulb at the rear into what is supposed to be for a double light bulb - Brake light switch on the pedal, so there got be the issue, it can just gets out of adjustment
thanks, ordered a new brake light switch and will look at this first.
I'd have a tinker with your original switch on the car now. Easy to access and you may find it's just something stuck between the pedal and the switch trigger.
