Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Forum noob, so before I get flamed I’ve read basically every thread about this and still have some questions. ( Bose stereo, no nav, no changer) I bought the car a little over a year ago, had it delivered and it got caught in an ice storm. Showed up basically incased in ice. Thawed it out in the garage. Maybe once in every 10 times I open the drivers side door to get in, I get the “white noise crackle” from the speakers and then no sound at all. Everything I’ve read is the amp is faulty. But 9 out of 10 times it’s fine. Seems to be zero reasoning for the random crackle. It hasn’t been rained on since I got it. Today I pulled the amp (frunk, not under the seat) to see if the connections were clean, everything looked good. While everything was unplugged I did notice the optical cable’s red light blinked, then went off. Even without the car off. I’m NOT an electrical guy so have no idea if this is normal? Could that be the issue, maybe a faulty ground or is the the norm for the light to blink? Thanks in advance guys!
