Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

before the front hieght was 24.75" and rear 25.75" and to be honest the ride was not soft and i always complaint to myself, but after the bilsteins hd,sways and especially alignment and tire pressure 32 f and 34 r...the ride hieght around is 25.5"....the handling is superb ...the car shocks absorbs all potholes on the road(of course exept huge ones) and no transfer into the cabin/driver before i use to drive around imperfections on the road now i look for them to go over ...before i had to hold the steering with both hands ,now i cruise with one at any speed......i am more than happy i would describe it as hitting the jackpot with the suspension setup.

POST 8Original post

Congratulations on finding the sweet spot but now you'e got the rest of us wondering about making this mod for ourselves!

POST 10Original post

Nice stance Maci..... though 34psi rear seams a bit low, no?

POST 12Original post

Quotes source post: 6431854

Maci, I agree with Red. Remember that the weight of the engine is over the rear wheels. I found 39 to 40 PSI in the rear to work well. The 44 PSI that Porsche recomments is too much, IMO.

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 6432046

i will definetly try 39-40 rear......

no idea why ...got the car like that....will probably move them out to flush with bumper....darn another project----they never end.

POST 15Original post

Did the previous owner install after market mufflers? If you have enough length, you should move them so they extend about 1.0 to 1.5 inches past the upper part of the opening in the bumper cover. I am guessing on the distance here since I no longer have my 996. Maybe someone can measure how much their tips stick out and post that number here. The pic below is the best shot I have of how far out my tips extended.

cargraphic sport mufflers...also my rear bumper is from a turbo....here is a pic from a real turbo......

Only in the Porsche...my guess is the Honda doesn't "get your tip extended"

You are correct, driving the Honda turns my "tip into a rasin."

POST 20Original post

hahahhahah That offer to drive my car is really starting to bother me now

I'll wear some Depends so I don't "drool" all over your car!

So, what exactly is the setup? It sounds like Bilstein HD's, but what springs and sways?

POST 23 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 6434578

sure......bilsteins hd,h/r springs ( probably settled more than should be from prevous owner),h/r sways rear set in middle hole,15mm h/r spacers all around,18 inch turbo look wheels with 225/40/18,265/35/18 michelins ps2,32 psi front and 38 psi rear.

what did this run you for parts (partial list)? PM me would be nice to know, Thanks in advance

POST 25Original post

Quotes source post: 6432046

for track or daily driving? what did you gain by lowering the psi?

POST 26Original post

Quotes source post: 6539699

Daily driving. The 44 PSI caused the center of the Pirelli tires to wear out more quickly in the center than on either edge, even with 1.5* negative camber. Once I dropped to 39 to 40 PSI, the wear was much more even, with the inner edge wearing slightly faster than the center or outer edge, which is to be expected with the negative camber.
