Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

so i am thinking about a modest lowering on my 2009 non- pasm boxster S ... i want to put on a set of OE SPYDER springs, dropping the car 20mm......for purely cosmetic reasons. i just popped on a set of Forgestar F14s, and i would like to eliminate some of the gap. the rims are ET 48 19x8.5 & ET 35 19x10 F14. they sit almost flush to the fender. i'm wondering if i am going to get any rubbing issues as a result. anyone have a similar set up? had any rubbing problems? TIA

POST 2Original post

FYI I have heard, but cannot confirm that the springs may not be lowered 20mm. Instead, the strut perch may be lowered ANd/Or it may be a combination of each. FOr example 10mm on strut and 10 on springs If you do get the springs please let us know your results. There should not be a rub issue - your wheels are out an additional 7mm from the stock 19's, i think they offer a 5mm spacer for porsche so i would think your ok. Stock spyder offset-Front: 8.5J x 19 ET 55 Rear: 10J x 19 ET 42

uhg... that would be a disappointment. looks like i might be taking a gamble on it.

Take a look at my thread here: http://www.planet-9.com/cayman-boxster-modifications/37793-please-post-your-ride-height.html

POST 5Original post

very helpful... so what is the difference between compensation plates & spacers & bushings? i spoke to SUNCOAST a while back about compensation plates... they had no idea what they were? was your car non-PASM to start with? have you had any rubbing issues? it looks like you have fairly aggressive offsets that have your wheels flush to the wheel well.

POST 6Original post

well, i'm going for it... i ordered the F&R Spyder springs today. should be here in 3 weeks... should be interesting.

POST 7Original post

How much did they costs? will they fit a 2008?

POST 8Original post

Hey AtoB did you have to get anything addition to the the spyder springs? I just bought a base 2008 987 Boxster and just want to lower it but no more than .50-.75”. TIA. mods forgive me for reviving an old thread but I can’t direct message yet.
