Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi guys, a good friend of mine wants to jump into Porsche Ownership and has been offered a car by a friend: W Reg Blue Porsche 911 Carrerra 4 Tiptronic S Coupe Mileage - 33K approx Full Porsche main dealer service history Seller is the second owner but he purchased when it only had 1500 miles on it so he has had it from nearly new. Full UK Spec including parking sensors, air con etc. Paintwork is immaculate as is the leather interior. He wants £29K for it. Good buy??

POST 2Original post

Hmmm, I'd be tempted to look at a facelift model, some about for near this price.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

That's what I thought, when was the facelift brought in?

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Have suggested to him £27K more reasonable as mid point between trade and retail. Any common issues with the C4? RMS?

POST 6Original post

All the 996 engines (not- GT2/3 Turbo) have the same RMS issues ! I think the C4 is a bigger job as the engine has to come out, where on the C2 its only the gearbox that needs to ne lowered down. I have heard the facelift 996 (nov 2001> 2002MY) was not as bad ?? (could be wrong)

POST 7Original post

Price wise, (depending on options and trim colour). I would say £24-26k ! Nice miles yes, but there are so many around that its a buyers market ! Remember - £28-30k would get you into a facelift with around 50-60,000 miles.. (if you look around)

POST 8Original post

£27 - 28k is a realistic price with low owners and that sort of mileage. Decent facelifts are still £30k+ at the moment - you can get an 80k miler for £29k if that's your thing. Ask yourself what will it need doing in the next 12 months? Brakes? / Warranty / 24k mile service? Negotiate as appropriate!
