was wondering if anyone has an explanation to what happened : my gas tank was a quarter full so i stopped at a gas station , turned off the car , filled up my tank ( near full , but not to the max ) . closed the tank cap ( made sure it was locked properly ) then attempted to turn on the car but it wouldnt start , tried it a few times and still wouldnt start. waited five minutes and then tried again and the car started . any clue what might be the problem ?

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Is there a chance you tapped the gas before turning the key? This will cause the engine to NOT start. I was a victim myself. zornet
might have , what would that do ?
If you blip the throttle just as you switch the engine off you'll flood the engine. Then when you try to start the car again it won't start the first time whilst excess fuel is burnt off. I always let my car idle for around 10 seconds before switching the engine off, particularly if i've been driving it hard.
