Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all, just picked up a 996.1 C2 and sorting a few minor niggles. When I filled up the washer fluid reservoir it started leaking from the driver side headlamp washer. A steady drip on drive for 2 days. It looks like it’s coming out right at the top around the jets. I am going to take the headlight out and have a look at it but are there any common issues and fixes? A new one is £165 and second hand £60 so hoping it’s a seal or something and not cracked. Any advice greatly appreciated

Pop the front bumper off. It's easier than it sounds. On a Cayenne, it's an O-ring on the joint to the hose and quite common.

We had the same problem. The leak was from the washer head itself. Age and wear prevents it sealing properly when closed and it dripped slowly, especially if facing down hill. To stop it leaking I inserted an in-line one way valve in the supply pipes (one each side) so that it takes a tiny amount more pressure from the pump to get the water to flow. Like this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/39518696...teid=0&campid=&customid=&toolid=10001&mkevt=1 The supply pipes are hard plastic so you may also need a bit of flexible hose and small hose clamps to join all the parts together. (I did try to take a washer unit apart to clean and put a new seal in, but broke it in the process. It's really not designed to be taken apart and I wouldn't try that again.)

I had this a couple of years ago. Decided that as I never really needed them, to remove completely. Just needed to purchase replacement corner lenses without the washer holes.

That’s a great solution thank you for sharing. I’ll whip the front bumper off a take a look.

Thanks, I guess it does look cleaner too so it’s a good option to consider
