So I found a good looking 996.2 in Kent (was good on paper with all the right Specs 72K miles). Got an full inspection + Scope test down the bores... £470 paid out Guess what.... Cylinder 4 scored - engine not running smoothly and soot in the spark plug... SOOOOO gutted (again) - will I never be a 996 owner? Greg

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi Greg At least it has a positive in as much as you still want to own a 996 whereas if you had purchased this one you would probably never want to SEE another one let alone buy one.
Good point Kev... So I passed on the Inspection report to the seller - as a good will gesture - he must be gutted I thought. Now I see its back for sale online at the original price -.... not sure I could do that.
I would have loved to have seen his acting skills when you told him 'oh no you're joking how awful!!' I bet he knew something was up hence the sale. Awful. You did well to get away with not buying it well done!
Was he a garage inSwanley?
