Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

from a Mk1 996TT? What have people done to improve the sound without completely screwing up the performance or making the mpg drop to sea level?????

POST 2Original post

There's this:- http://www.smiley.net/orangecap.htm

POST 3Original post

I havent any experience of TT exhausts myself, but you might want to contact Panos ( http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/showprofile.asp?memid=5719 ) as he has a Tubi system on his, and swears by it. You might also want to check this thread: http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=286022

POST 4Original post

BTW - Thought this was a general "out of interest" enquiry, not specifically TT orientated.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

cheers no its TT orientated - mods for the na engines wont neccessarily work on the TT

POST 6Original post

Had a look on the website of the orange cap people, but was unable to find that part number (from the picture of the bag) anywhere. Anyone know if they are still available? Also, does blanking that off with the plug have any adverse effects?

POST 7Original post

John Stewart (johnjstewart) got some from: http://www.dataplastics.co.uk . Edit: I tried it myself, but couldn't tell any difference. I think that might be because of my 'sports' exhaust.

POST 8Original post

You're probably right. However, I am confident that for those without the sports exhaust they'll find the mod helps to deliver a better note. The caps are available from these people http://www.niagaraplastics.com/flash.htm It's a 1.5" plug (part no. 273-1P).

POST 9Original post

Sorry - should have qualified that - John got the Niagara plugs from Dataplastics (Witney, Oxon).
