Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Those of you with keen ears will have discerned the whirring noise the spoiler makes as it descends no doubt? Last night I was in a load of stop start traffic on the A12 and I heard the spoiler come down no problem as I caught up to the back of the queue. We then zoomed off again (not fast enough to raise the spoiler) but as I let it overrun in gear to slow down again I heard what seemed like the same noise but it stopped as I dipped the clutch to stop. I thought that was a coincidence but the next time we set off again the same thing happened and dipping the clutch definitely killed it. I couldn't recreate it again no matter what I tried. I'm kind of thinking something is a bit sticky on the coming back down through 37mph zone or does it always do this regardless of whether the spoiler has been up? If so, what has the clutch got to do with it? Am I on the wrong track completely and it is something else being actuated? /stumped of essex. :?

POST 2Original post

I've not heard the spoiler on my C4S. Seems silky quiet compared to the coffee-grinder 993 one.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It is almost inaudible - I normally have the radio on for traffic news which is enough to drown it completley but as I was already in a jam I'd killed it Probably nothing at all I'm just curious what connection the clutch could have to whatever it is - I suppose it is possible that it is the rev drop caused by dipping the clutch on the overrun lets something else spin up or down?

POST 4Original post
