Hi guys been scanning the threads for a while to get tips on which car to buy for my budget. Just picked up a 2002 C4S tiptronic as the general view seems to be that they will hold their money well. Did have a 2000 996 C2 manual with the GT3 bodykit for about 3 months but it was a bit of a dog and I couldn't get on with it. Thing is I really liked the look of the rear spoiler so I was wondering what your thoughts are on fitting a rear spoiler. The cars a wide bodied version. Would you put one on? If so which one? Where would I buy one from? ETC? All views welcome. Bob

IMHO the worst thing you can do to a C4S is stick the spoiler on, totally ruins the look of the most desirable 996.
^^^^seconded. Spoilers are so Blair! Seriously C4S is a lovely car best of the 996's, but intrigued to know why the C2 was such a dog...bodykit is just cosmetic afterall.
Hi Chris Dog as in I was so desperate to buy a porshe I rushed in and bought the first one I looked at. It had 57k miles on it and at first I thought the way it drove was just how they were. It all just felt a bit loose. I took it into my local porshe specialist and discovered it needed new steering rack, all new discs and pads, full service as the last one was at 43k and there was a good chance it had been in a smash as even when it had been 4 wheel aligned it didn't track right. I didn't realise how out of shape and knackered it was until I took a good condition well cared for one out on test. That'll teach me. All in I was looking at a fair amount of cash so I offloaded it to dealer at a 3 grand loss.
Hi, An excellent choice of 911  Have to say been looking at the rear spoiler for my car. Really in a dilemma with this. As I do like the rear spoiler of the 996 TT. As the C4S has the TT body and frontair intakes etc it would make sense to have had the rear spoiler as well. Don't think the GT3 or GT2 look right on the C4S. Will probably keep it stock as the 996C4S is imho the best looking 996 and has a more aggressive presence than its 997 C4S brother. What is her full spec?? Regards Alan
IMHO Porsche killed off the great spoilers after the 993. The old whale, the tea tray and that piece of art that adorns the 993TT, the 993 GT2 even, all sooo good, but the 996 TT, GT3, 997 TT all have very average spoilers because the rear end is so humped they couldnt work out what to do. Got the exhaust right tho'
