I see Paragon has a 996TT for a fiver short of £40k. This looks like a bargain - what's the catch :? ? tim

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

So do Cridfords... http://www.cridfords.co.uk/detail.asp?id=184&model=2001/Y_911 Turbo Tiptronic
7 years and 70k on the clock ? seems about right ??
Its a 996 TT :?
looked at that way - i see what you mean. still seems like an awful lot of very fast car for the money!
Very very true and I came very close to acquiring one but ..... there is a but and it is not something that I find easy to explain which is maybe why this particular variant seems inexpenisve compared with others although this is probably in some way down to the fact that there seem to be so many of them around. Something that isn't true of previous 911 turbos.
No glove box
In the 996 TT service history schedule I wonder if there are big services due from 75k to 100k ?
And no 1 child didn't think much of the cup holders ... (and did someone say the interior is **** = not up to standard )
The cridfords car looks nice! Great colour.
Are you lot real? No glove box....no cup holders...? Oh no...how do i cope when i put my foot down and leave you all wondering what the hell happened to you going backwards so quickly!!! Having had mine a couple of months now have to say bargain car of the century. Most incredibly planted powerful A-B comfortable road car you will ever come across....bar maybe the 997 version. First day I had it just couldn't stop laughing....totally addictive. If you get the chance to have one do it....most fun you will have each day that your not a track somewhere. Guaranteed.
And look what is for sale in the next column over on the paragon site! A good old 993 TT for more money....... A 996 TT at that price has got to be a great deal, but I just think they haven't finished going down in price quite yet, and potential buyers must be thinking the same, which then pushes the price down even more. We should make a pact, no one is to buy a 996 TT until they reach £29999, if no one buys them, the price has just got to come down!
Bu66er off
Dave, I'll offer you £29,999 for Terry
On reflection I think the boys are probably right; the 996 turbo is one hell of a car and represents incredible value for money on the used market. There are bits of it I still have issues with and have no regrets making the decision to go the 993 normally aspirated route, but that was partly because I'd find it difficult to justify having any other car at the same time and I decided I didn't want a turbo. The 997 Turbo must be something esle. The cabin quality is hugely improved and given that the Carrera variants are scarey enough, the turbo must be awe inspiring. However, a friend who has taken delivery of theirs says he doesn't like it. He admits its scarey fast ,very well built and seemingly reliable but thinks its boring  He wished they'd bought another Aston (in which he had 3 replacement gear boxes on the last one) or a Ferrari 599 (that they could only do 3000 miles a year in). Funny what people find exciting isn't it? Oh, and they'd both cost upwards of £70K more :!:
