Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It seems my 996 doesn't have the on board computer option activated, ie fuel consumpion, temp etc... Would be nice to get this activated... Can a specialist activate this option and install the necessary hardware (i.e. stalk or switch?) I am based in London. Many thanks, J

AFAIK, Wrightune ( http://www.wrightune.co.uk ) in Wallingford, Oxon, are the only specialist who does OBC and Cruise retrofits to 996s and Boxsters. There is a thread in the Technical Articles section which gives an overview of the retrofits, but the two original DIYs are: OBC: http://www.whiteson.org/boxster/mods/obc/ Cruise: http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?s=&showtopic=661&view=findpost&p=2713 If your car is a C4, or MY2000-, it makes sense to do both cruise and OBC, as the 3-lever stalk is more expensive than a 4-lever. I have to declare my affilliation to Wrightune, as Tony Wright and I have been the best of friends for over 35 years.
