Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'm really hoping that the Cayman sounds more 911 than Boxter - anyone heard it. I've listened to the MP3 on the Porsche site, but I want to know what it sounds like in idel, with a little throttle blib!

POST 2Original post

Not heard it, but the articles indicate in sounds very much like the 911.

POST 4Original post

Motor Trend claims the U.S. gets a much more aggressive exhaust note than Europe. It is described as the best of both the Boxster and the 911. I was personally impressed with the sound of the 987S. Should sound great.

The exhaust note, not sure if this is the Euro exhaust ornot - important because the Euro exhaust is quiet compared to North America - Play this to here it: http://www.kabel1.de/php-bin/scripts/cvideo/cvideo.php?Porsche+Cayman+S,,3,,335,,NULL,,redirect.streaming.szm.de/redirect/redirect.php?type=vod&codec=wm&stream=K1/auto/aa011005/cayman_mid.wmv,,3,,1

...can anyone tell me where this information came from in regard to the US exhaust note being louder that the EU as frommy experience most EU manufactured cars ship to the US with exactly the same exhaust systems so why would these Cayman's be any different or any Porsche exported for that matter? Don't underestimate the sound of the 987S. I'd be happy with the way that car sounds. The fact that it appears that the Cayman S will be even more aggressive and bring in some more "911"ish sound in the higher revs is great.

...can someone upload this article please? cheers Dean
