Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Guys, Does anyone know anywhere I can get hold of a roof transport system / rails for a 996 for skis/box etc. apart from handing over my cheque book to OPC? I appreciate you shouldn't really be attaching these things to a 911 but thought there must be a company somewhere who manufacture/sell them for something other than a Cayenne? :? Any help much appreciated, Cheers, Alan.

POST 2Original post

I could only find the Tequipment rails. Like yourself am posed with the question of how do I get two sets of skis across to Europe in the winter? I wouldnt worry about perceptions of rails on the roof, you're going skiing/snowboarding so its all cool. Pulling a caravan is another matter.

POST 3Original post

Dejan, I think you're stuck with the OPC - I've Thule don't do them (they only appear to do ones for the Cayenne) I can't see anyone else doing them.

The roof bars are nearly £500 <coughsplutter> from OPC http://www.porsche.com/uk/accessori...system+-+911+-+996+-+Transport&hideintro=true However they sold me their display bike carrier for £70, which really is a good bit of kit. http://www.porsche.com/uk/accessori...hrradhalter-911-996-sicherheit&hideintro=true

POST 5Original post

Cough splutter indeed, £500 for two pieces of metal and a couple of bolts.

.....and don't forget the word Porsche on the packaging along with Tequipment :?

POST 7Original post

if you want to transport snowboard or skis bought some great quality carriers which stick to the roof by suction/ no fixings ...look pretty cool
