Hi, recently I’ve been having an issue when driving. I can shift into 2nd fine, but it pops out of gear when cruising / decelerating. I looked into adjusting the shifter cables and noticed I am missing a connecting rod. Does anyone know what this part may be called, or the part number? Thanks

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Looks like the original part number for the “connecting rod” was 98742403510 but it has been superseded by 98142403500. See item 24 in the diagram at the following link. Transmission Control Manual Transmission
FYI, that wheel is not a functioning part of the transmission. It's just a flywheel weight to give the shifting a more stout feeling.
Looking at your photo again, I see in addition to the “connecting rod” being broken and half missing, the shifter cable is also popped off the linkage. If the cable is not broken and just the cup is worn/broken/missing, then take a look at Function-First shifter cable ends for an easy DIY fix.
This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
