Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello, New here and I have searched for info on the above but did not come across anything that would answer my question. I have a 2008 997.1TT with a tipptronic and recently my front differential decided to call it quits. Local shop that has dismantled it has said it needs replaced as the gears and internals are all damaged. Before I go the way of a new front diff I have looked around online in hopes of finding a lightly used replacement. I have found one out of a 2011 997.2TT with 30,000km on it and I can purchase for a reasonable price. The only thing I can not confirm is actual compatibility. They look identical however it's the internals that I am not sure on. My current part# out of my 997.1 is 99734902050 and the one out of the 997.2 is 99734902054 . If anyone has any insight or can answer the question I would be very appreciative. Thank you

Hello I am in the same boat. I have a 2007 Turbo needing a front diff and found a diff ending in 2051 and mine is 2050. Did you ever establish if a later diff from a 2009-2011 will cause an issue?
