Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So the brother in law just aquired a very cheap 996 drives great cosmetically needs a bit of work, however as you will see it comes with a wing that has big open slots should he be worried about water ingress in the air intake? It covers about three qurater of the spout but to me water is just going to stream in of the edge of the spoiler its going to be living outside Having an issue uploading pics

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

No pointers boys? What stops the water on a standard lid?

POST 4Original post

Pic of inside of standard engine cover above. I'd never really thought about it, but nothing actually stops it if it comes through the slats. I guess mostly the water runs away along the slats?

POST 5Original post

The air filter box has a drain in it at the lowest point.

POST 7Original post

My understanding is that any water that comes in goes out the bottom, as the airflow is down through the intake then back up through the filter. Perhaps some aero comes in to play, but obviously not if parked up!
