Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi guys, I'm still hunting around for my first 911. Came across a 98R 996 C2 manual, FSH, 36k miles, GT3 Alloy, Becker upgrade/Nav, Grey ruffled leather, Dark metallic Blue, Climate, elec sunroof....for £21K Is this a good price? My thinking is yes, but am i missing something? Any possible problems or upcoming works that could be the reason? As ever, your valuable knowledge would be welcome! Cheers Taran :!:

POST 2Original post

seems a good price subject to a PPI if that's the colour and spec you are after, trade or private ?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Sundeep, Cheers for that. It's a private car mate. Not exactly the colour i was after, but i'm not too fussy on this, i'm just after a good car. This is my first 911 and have a budget of ~£20K. Looking at 964's, 993's and 996's. This just caught my eye. Looks smart rather than special. One of the few low milers i've seen that isn't a Tippy. Also has a sports exhaust, forgot to mention that earlier. Don't know if it has sports suspension, looks to be standard ride height from the pics. Taran

POST 4Original post

As Sundeep says, good value if the PPI checks out all ok ! Colour is nice when its clean. Grey Trim, would look nice with a painted tunnel - Good luck keep us updated.. Remember PPI is a must. Dan

POST 6Original post

Fantastic value for such a low mileage car! As others have said and indeed Mark Pearce (who has his own specialist garage), get a Pre-Purchase Inpection done on it first. Do a search on here and see who's closest to you. ~ Maxie

POST 7Original post

What everyone else said- a good buy if it checks out.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the feedback guys. I've left the guy a message. I'll see if he gets back to me. Cheers Taran

POST 9Original post

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi guys, Well, i've left two messages on the sellers mobile and no response. I presume it's sold. Oh well, another one bites the dust. Roll up the next one.... Taran

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Oh for sure Daniel mate, I'm a firm believer that the best things in life are worth waiting for... ...and well....a 911 falls firmly into this category! Taz

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Cheers for that Daniel. The first hour in the Office every morning is dedicated to Pistonheads, Autotrader and eBay! I'll search a number of specialist dealers too, but more chance of an uncovered gem in the Private ads. Nice selection there, but i really must stick as close to £20K as possible. If I creap closer to £25K i would go for a good 993. But no, i gotta be strong and stick to the budget...! I'm going to be looking at about £2K for insurance too! Taran
