Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Right - I've got wonky tail pipes on my 996. Took it to the OPC to have a look (they were going to adjust them for free !). However the bolt is badly corroded that tightens the tail tip on - so it will need to go back for them to try some heat and rust spray to loosen the bolt...... Does this sound right ? Is all the adjustment on the zorst tip ?? I thought I'd read somewhere that the silencer units sit in a cage that can also be adjusted ?

POST 2Original post

Gastro, the pipe can be adjusted at the back box too, get underneath and there's a ball joint kinda thing (difficult to explain without pics) at the rear of the muffler box that is held in place with a jubilee clip type band, this allows movement of the whole tip and pipe that the tip is attached to in various planes of movement, combined with the tip's rotational plane you should be able to get them both lined up.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
