Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Q- is the engine fan (the rear passenger side) supposed to stay on for a little while after the car is turned off? Mine does not, but I turned the key to the accessory power position and it came on. Just making sure. Thanks!

POST 3Original post

What year 987? The actions of the 987.1 and 987.2 fans are different. the 987.2 fan can activate any time it is told the engine compartment temperature is too hot - even with the key not only off, but out of the ignition. Mine does this occasionally if I left it idling in the driveway in really hot weather before pulling it into the garage. The 987.1 behaves differently, I believe the key has to be in the ignition for it to run.

OK then. I was getting that info from someone who posted about it here.. apparently what he posted wasn't correct. No problem.
