Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi everyone, I'm looking to lower my car (springs and dampers rather than coilovers) and considering Vogtland -30mm springs. Wondered what people's experiences of them are and how they compare to H&R please? TIA

POST 2Original post

I was really interested in these, I liked the fact they were meant to be lower than stock but not too firm. After loads of digging it seems that they are around 30mm lower than USA springs, which are not as low as the UK standard springs. So only around 10-15mm or so lower than UK springs. I had M030 springs on anyway which are already 10mm lower, so probably not going to notice anything. The damper makes far more difference than the spring when comparing standard, m030, Eibach, H&R springs for comfort. I ended up putting on non M030 dampers, the ride is so, so much better on UK roads. I bought a set of H&R springs, went H&R as they drop around 10mm less than Eibach which are 30mm lower than standard UK, as I don't like a slammed look. I like to have a small, even gap all round the arch. But to be honest I have never fitted them. I have new bump stops and top mounts, and when I change them over I will probably put them on. But the ride is so good at the moment on our UK roads that I don't want to mess with anything. I'm thinking some 7-10mm spacers might give me the look without effecting the ride. How it drives it far more important to me than how it looks. I reckon the H&R with standard or Koni Active dampers would probably be great, but until I get my next squeak or whatever, I'm leaving be.

POST 3Original post

I have these combined with Koni sport dampers. I had the Mo30 before. They are definitely lower than the MO30 stuff, probably another 10-15mm but seem to be not as alow as the H&R/Eibach. Thats was what I was aiming for and they work really well. Not too hard and lower the car the right amount. Thats about 2 years and 10k miles on mine now and no complaints.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the feedback. I'm looking for slightly lower than M030 so I think I'll be going H&R.

POST 5Original post

These are lower than M030, as I stated above 10-15mm lower.

POST 6Original post

This is mine with H&R lowering springs, Koni Special Active dampers and X74 geo.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Right you are. Thanks for the correction. Is your car on 18 or 19s. Looks really good.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Any chance you could do measurements from wheel centre to wheel arch lip please? Ideally with a full tank of fuel. I have measurements already for H&R but not for Vogtland.

POST 9Original post

Approx 330mm front and 345mm rear. That with 1/4 tank.
