I believe it is possible. I think you need the roof transport system for Targa, option 549, then the appropriate bike kit.
POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post
I know its possible to fit kits on the normal 996 Carrera cars. They have the groves on their roof for bike rack kits. I had a feeling as the Targa has a glass roof that there are no groves or way to fix a kit. This option kit, is that something porsche would supply?

Yes, I know. My Targa doesn't have grooves. The item I listed is specifically for the Targa roof. You then get various connections for them so they can carry bike, ski box etc. http://www.porsche.com/uk/accessoriesandservice/personalisation/tequipment/911-996/touring/ Get the roof carrier for Targa, then get the bike option that clicks into it.
