Well it was going to happen eventually but today at the petrol station the cap finally detached from the car. The little cord finally gave way. So can I buy one/make one or will porsche try and make me buy a filler cap with strap attached? I could just ask them but its Saturday night so I'll ask you!

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'm not sure if the rubber strap comes with the cap, but I can't see it listed as a separate part. The cap is £8.50+VAT, so it won't break the bank to find out.
You will find the cap and rubber cord (second hand) on eBay for around £12.00.
One of our R24 members found it cheaper to buy new from his PC, as Richard H has pointed out. And he got the 10% member's discount too. Jeff
