My Brand Advisor told me (on 2018-07-06) that "Porsche decided not to build any Non-S C4 Cabriolets until spring 2019". I've had a Demand Request in the system for months for a C4 Cab (991610), and was told to expect July/August as the earliest Allocation. Has anyone else heard anything similar/different? Or, does anyone else actually have an allocation for a C4 Cab? Thanks!
There aren't a lot of 911 owners on P9, so you might want to try ******** if you have no success here. I can tell you that the experience of one P9 member was that non-S C4's are very hard to get. He eventually ordered a C4S when he absolutely could not find a C4 allocation His was a coupe, but I would guess that the cab would be similar or even harder to get. You may have to choose between a C4S and a C2.
Even though I knew a C4 was rare (and a C4 Cab more rare), I was hoping to find out if anyone had heard the same specific about "spring 2019". Thanks for the info!
It seems Porsche allocates very few production slots to the base C4. They sell all the 911's they can build, so why wouldn't they allocate more of their slots to the more expensive models? That's my guess as to their rationale.
So it turns out you can get a non-S C4 Cab sooner than spring 2019!

Wow. I bet that in retrospect a lot of people who made deposits will realize they ignored numerous warning flags. PCNA needs to get in front of this or it faces a brand tarnishing that will linger for years.
I was told by my sales guy (Indiana dealer) yesterday that he put in his first 992 order on Saturday and the expected delivery date was July or August 2019.
