Hello all.... *** reposted from another thread.... I'm the proud new owner of a 2001 Porsche 911 Turbo that I purchased in the US and imported to Canada. The runs perfectly, however, the rear spoiler has begun sticking on the right side when it is to be lowered. The spoiler "lifts" but not always on the right side. When lowering, it also sticks now. It stopped doing it and I thought there was a little dirt in the piston, but its doing it again. Anyone have this problem or could offer any suggestions? I reluctant to take it to the Porsche dealer and let them "see what's wrong"...$$$... if I have to, I will of course, but thought someone would have an idea... many thanks John

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Hi John, Based on your description, it seems like a fairly straightforward issue: that the mechanism to raise/lower needs fixing/replacement. If not a Porsche dealer, then you may want to try an independent specialist who probably has lower labour rates. There probably isn't much to be saved on the parts cost. Merry Christmas!
My 996tt has the factory fit Aerokit, so no up/down spoiler. Which spoiler gives more downforce, the standard one or the aerokit one?
