Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Does anyone know if the LH (nearside) Rear Fog Lamp on a 2004 C4S is supposed to work? My RH Rear Fog Lamp works OK. But the LH one doesn't. Yes, I realise that legally you only need the RH one working, but why have Porsche fitted a working bulb in the LH one then ? Why not just leave the bulb out?

POST 2Original post

Remember reading about this on another forum where a chap was importing a car from the US. Apparently Porsche often put in both the bulbs in European cars but only the RH side is wired to work as per the regulations in the UK as mentioned. Just treat it as a spare.

POST 3Original post

Ditto what Vlad said. They even put a bulb in it because it's cheaper than removing it (I guess) but it isn't connected somewhere.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks to all for the info. I've spent 30 + years working in the Motor Industry for various Car Manufacturers. I know of no other Manufacturer who would give away a bulb, if he didn't need to! They all schedule builds, dependant on the territory it's going to. A RHD vehicle doesn't get a steering wheel on the LHS as well, does it At least if my LH rear fog lamp bulb fails, I know where to get a spare! Good old Porsche
