Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Hi - I recently swapped out my blowing motor for a used motor. I forgot to mark which transmission cable went to which side of the transmission. I have now put everything back together, but I’m not sure which cable goes to which side. Can anyone either tell me a way to visually identify which goes on the driver side and which goes on the passenger side of the transmission? Or is there another way to tell? I guess I can just hook them up the way I think they go based on the markings and curvature of the cable housing and see if it shifts properly, but I’d rather not reassemble everything only to find out it was backwards. Any help is appreciated.

Need more info. Year, model, trim, 5 or 6 spd.

POST 4Original post

The cable that moves when you move the shifter fore and aft goes on the left (driver) side.
