Hi all, I bought a set of GT3 BBS (gen 1) wheels to go on my Gen 2 996 c2. The rears went straight on, but the fronts didnt fit, it look they were catching on the 3 splines on the center of the hub, inside where the bolts screw in. Anyone else aware of this issue? would a set of 5mm spacers sort it? Cheers

Any photos of what is clashing? They should just fit straight on? Assuming your car has standard hubs and brakes?
What sizes have you bought? These come in various sizes for various cars, however, even the 7.5" ET52 wheel I would expect to still fit without catching anything. I don't really get where they are catching?
The centre of the wheel was not going over these 3 splines:
size: 7.5 ET50, wheels on there currently are 8 ET50, so should expect them to fit - I dont think offset is issue as its the middle of the wheel. To Be honest it was a tyre fitter trying to put them on, so i partly think the caught slightly and he gave up. I have a service soon at a good indy, so will get them to have a look. Just wondering if this is a regular issue or not.
Have you double checked there is not a spigot ring in the bore of the wheel? Maybe someone has had them on a VW Camper or something and needed to reduce the centre bore size? Other thing, is there part numbers on the inside? I know a few people made replicas of these for VWs in the correct size for them to just bolt on.
No Spigot ring in the center, and quicky review with a ruler, rears (which fit) and fronts have the same diameter centre. There is a part number on both front and rear, I bought them as original BBS wheels, I havent taken them apart but they do look to be proper two piece wheels (I imagine replicas would look like this but are just one piece...?) BUT, something I havent noticed before, looking on the inside, the fronts have a recess on the spokes, but the rears dont? Photo below, rear then front, I would imagine they should all be the same if real?
Weird. That is a genuine Porsche wheel. 996 362 134 55 is the correct part. Are you sure it isn't just a really snug fit? I would jack the car up and try it again.
good to know they are originals! might just be a case of needed a whack (with a soft hammer......)
Just clean up inside the wheel centrebore. May have been powdercoated in the past so need that area to be taken back slightly back to metal. The fronts do have slightly different backs to the rears, so they look fine.
ok, cheers, sounds like just need a clean and some force[/quote]
