I have tried doing a search but didn't find anything. My passenger door on my yr 2000 996 C4 hardtop appears to be leaking. The carpet below the door area next to the seat is soaking wet. Any clues? Many thanks, great forum John

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Could be the door membranes. There is a recent post on the Boxster forum of the same problem: http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/fb.asp?m=344175 Make sure that the water doesn't accumulate under the passenger seat. The alarm control unit is located there, and water will muck it up a treat.
Hi John. Has the car has a new windscreen at any time ? I have had 3 screens put in various 911s over the years, put in by idiots due to insurance restrictions, but they have all leaked. (see previous posts ) As with most cars, the primary source of leaks into the footwell area, is via the screen. Worth checking as well !
Thanks guys, sounds like I need to get it checked out. John
