Hi all, I need to abuse your knowledge guys. Am looking for a 996 TT and saw this one advertised at an Audi dealership. Details below: 911 Turbo 2002 02 reg Black with Black leather, Bose, ESR, Full Porsche Service History, 18" Turbo Alloys 60,00 mile. Car will be sold with 2 new back tyres, Main 60K Porsche service, and replacement clutch and offered with 12 months Audi warranty usable at any Audi dealership in the country. There is NO movement on price! It has a couple of scuffed alloys and stone chips on the wing Mirrors and bonnet. They said they would re-furbish the alloys and paint the mirrors. I'm also trying to get them to paint the bonnet. Price is £40,000. The catch? It has 8 previous owners!!!! They're trying to tell me that it's normal for Porsche's to have many owners but i'm not convinced. Is this true or am I being naive? IS IT WORTH THE MONEY??? All comments welcome! Cheers, Omar

Omar, get it PPI'ed The Audi dealer won't know the 1st thing about it. These are complex beasts so worth the circa 300+ notes for a PPI Thus Audi Warranty on a 996 Turbo = are they for real ! 911's do get through a few owners so nothing to worry about Note, I adjusted your title to take off the large caps, just so no one gets scared !
Sorry for my ignorance but what is a PPI? A history check?
Pre Purchase Inspection, done by a Porsche Expert,
Its not a bad price, but its not madly cheap either. Just not convinced by the warranty situation. The number of owners isn't the end of the world, cars like that do change hands quite alot, some of the previous owners could be private to company or vice versa, and maybe a dealer demo at the beginning. As said above, I'd get a ppi done just to be on the safe side. There's plenty about, so worry about missing out!
LOL - Nice one Sundeep Omar - PPI = Pre-purchase inspection. Similar to what you can get on any car from the RAC/AA, but this would be done by an independent Porsche specialist, of which you can get contact details from this site. They will check out the car mechanically and cosmetically, and report back on any problems they may see, or invisage. They can tell if it's been in an accident, original paintwork...things like that to put your mind at ease. What will the Audi warranty cover btw? Taran :?:
no disrespect but Audi dont know about Audi cars... not sure if they will even be able to fit the right type of tyres on a porsche turb
