Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

add 10% import duty add 17.5% VAT add UK conversion costs Not worth it, you could probably find a LHD cheaper here although strong Euro has made it all pricey for LHD's
sounds like good advice. thanks.
Not to mention about a grand to get it here in a sealed container.
10% import duty is only for businesses/traders
I'm afraid not. I was quoted the same 10% by Customs and Excise. Only way to avoid the taxes is to import from the EU but the strength of the Euro makes this bonkers.
10% import duty is only for businesses/traders Is this not for new items/ products imported?
If you own the car for 6 months in USA and have a fixed address there you can import free of duty. If not, add up all your purchasing costs including shipping and insurance then add 10% import duty, then add 17.5% VAT to the whole lot. It's nowhere near worth the hassle. Then you've got to get single vehicle approval for the car when it gets here which on a Porsche means some re-wiring.
And then you've probably got to buy it back off Ebay from the scouser who finds it on a beach after its fallen off the cargo ship!
I'm afraid so. Unscrupulous shippers will try and fleece you for the 10% and customs don't know what they are talking about but the good shippers will organise paying the customs, port charges etc etc and will only charge you the £50 not the 10% for a personal import. Fact.
