Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Anyone out there ever seen or heard of this unit advertised on ebay? I don't now what exactly is being sold. If it is an entire unit, it looks and sounds too good to be true. I looked at their web site but it was mostly in Japanese. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Pors...090631793QQcategoryZ40017QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting . Thanks, Frank

I haven't heard of that kit but I would never pay that kind of money for it. It's just a mounting kit with some trim painted to match your car. With $25 worth of material and a little time, you could make yourself a custom mounting solution that would look stock. That thing is outrageous.

POST 3Original post

We discussed that exact kit before in another thread but it was before anyone was selling it for the US. The color of the trim isn't an exact color match to volcano grey but it's close and fitment is on the spot. The price however is way too high. What it includes makes it really easy to drop in a new headunit, there is an antenna converter, a speaker wire conversion plug, and a power adapter. Saves you from a lot of splicing. Either get the kit and do a DIY or just have a pro install it for u, make the faceplate and do all the splicing. In the end the kit will probably be a bit cheaper unless you're good buddies with an audio installer. - Suneet
