I'm considering some interior aesthetic modifications to my 987, and I'm considering doing the Rennline aluminum floorboards with speed holes and matching pedals on both driver and passenger side. Has anybody noticed any additional clunking/rattling or vibrating noises from doing this modification? My car has no interior squeaks or rattles and I would prefer not to introduce such noises to the cabin environment and purely have induction/engine and feedback noises. Thanks!

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Are you removing all the factory carpet ? I would imagine that would introduce sympathetic resonance. If that's what you're thinking of but you want it nice for street use. Maybe you can add small amounts of foam at the points of articulation to the floor pan to dissuade that effect. Without carpet it will be louder overall due to the loss of sound deadening. On the other hand if you're just pulling the mats and introducing the aluminum floor panels I would think that arrangement would be resonance free.
Yes, I plan on installing the 'track mats' as well. I think that adding some foam padding to the underneath would definitely help. I feel like that modification would sharpen up the interior looks, although the stock look is timeless already. I also do like having some additional road noise as it makes the car sound more raw - I just don't want squeaking or metal-metal rattling.
