Hi, Thanks for the input on the other 3.8L motor thread. Thus far, for obvious reasons, all the transplants were done on Cayman S cars. Is there any reason why the transplant will not work in a Base Cayman? Will the standard 5-speed transmission be a ***** in the car's armor after the transplant? In other words, do we need a 6-speed to fully optimize the added power? Thanks for the education. CP

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I think it's just a question of which engine is easier to sell - the 2.7 or 3.4? Bear in mind that the front brake rotors are slightly bigger on the S. 6 speed is available an option (with PASM ) for base cayman.
