Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I have been talking with Fabian Roock of Roock Racing for the last monthon their 3.8 conversion of the CaymanS and need someadvice...<o ></o >
The conversion cost is very reasonable at a flat $22k for engine swap, sport clutch, ecu, headers, and intake. ROOCK willextend a 2 year warrantee (awesome) and conversion will be completely OEM/serviceable at Porsche dealerships.<o ></o >
Does any member have any experience with ROOCK?<o ></o >
Also, their conversion will produce 380 HP, 0-60 in 4.5 (0-62 in 4.7) and top speed of 185+… low end quickness is more important to me then top end speed so he will be customizing ECU to focus on torque on the lowers gears.
Does that sound correct?<o ></o >
Look forward to some good responses…<o ></o >
Edited by - mt647 on 08/02/2006 09:34:01 AM

POST 2Original post

Roock has created some good stuff in the past and had their share of learning experiences as well. I'm sure a search of more generic internet forums like ******** will produce some interesting reading for you. I don't have any direct experience with them, but would be interested to know that if they are going to have an offering for the Cayman whether or not they want to become a sponsor here. Let me know what Fabian has to say or link us up whenever it is convenient for you.

POST 3Original post

That's a pricey option considering the relative gains IMHO. I would just do the 9ff Stage 2 Kit. They seem to generate the same low end performance times? I have had no personal experience with Roock but have heard good things about their work.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
