Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, my side light off side has stopped working. I think its just the bulb but when i came to have a look today i couldn't find how to access it! Is it an easy job or do i have to take it to a mechanic. Many thanks [ ]

POST 2Original post

Hi John, It's relatively easy, if a little 'fiddly' as you have to release the whole headlight unit from wing.... instructions should be in your manual or there is bound to be a DIY tip in the 996 Technical Articles hth Paul

POST 3Original post

The owners handbook is a good place to start ............ If you haven't got a copy of my book, of course. [ ]

If I can do it anyone can. Couple of things; The plastic screw that holds the liner in place might need a flat head screwdriver under it to help it come off. Make sure you cover the bumper with a towel under the lamp so when you put the unit back in you can rest it on the bumper while you line up the runners. Good luck.
