Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just refurbishing my centre console and the bushes in the shifter have seen better days. Shift action felt okay to me but I can now see the slack. Not sure that I want a short shifter, quite like the standard shift action, is it possible to buy new bushes alone? I can't see any reference to them in the parts catalogue I have.

POST 2Original post

I don't think so, I replaced mine with a 997 GT3 shifter which is very slightly shorter throw, but much nearer stock than the Alex short shift kit I also tried.

POST 3Original post

I'd have thought Alex's bushes would fit the stock shifter, but if not try, these guys : https://www.phenixengineering.com/products/porsche-997-gt3-style-billet-shift-bushing-kit

POST 4Original post

Sorry no they don't. Thinking about it, are you sure it's the bushes that are worn or the shaft going in to them as they're both plastic. :dont know:

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Cheers all, will have another look at it and see what's worn, just assumed bushes were the issue.

POST 6Original post

If you are doing this, well worth looking at a 997 stock shift 99742401000 (about £250+ VAT from Porsche), significantly shorter throw than a 996 stock shift.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yeah, it's in the running, priced it up yesterday
