I've been shopping around to get a hardtop painted. So to properly frame the conversation, it's important to mention condition: hardtop in good condition, no dings, few scratches, wrong color, needs sanded, primed, painted, clear coat, buffed. I am located in the midwest (Columbus OH). I went to 3 shops and got 3 estimates that very far apart. $900, $2,000, and $600. I was told by some in the forum that it should cost around $300. So, for those of you have done this before, what did it cost you? How was the outcome? Thank you.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Assuming that there is no real damage to be fixed, a high quality job should fall between $800-$1000 . Unless you come across a shop that's in dire need of work (that should be a red flag in and of itself), I can't imagine anyone willing to do an excellent job for less . It really comes down to how much of a perfectionist you are . But, $2000 seems way out of line .
Ouch! Mine was red when I bought it. Had no blemishes at all. Cost me 400 to repaint it black. Came out great. I think 4-6 is fair.
Job completed at $680. It's about $300 more than I thought it would cost. Thank you all for your insight. Btw, it came out great!
Who did you use in Columbus? I'm in Cincy and might need a good recommendation sometime...thanks!
