Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, on my 1999 Carrera 2 when I, err, drive in a "spirited" way the top edge of the windscreen seal rubber moves/ slips back so creating a load of wind noise. Cure to date is to remember to push the seal back down periodically. Has anyone else had this and found a cure? Thx Mark PS: I only did 300 m from Chapel to Stowe on Sunday but, after seeing the Silverstone thread, I'm keeping my head down!

POST 2Original post

Welcome Mark! Yes, it is a common problem on 1998 and 1999 996s. Porsche issued a technical bulletin on this, which involves packing under the rubber trim with a foam cord. If you would like a copy, drop me an email.
