Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm currently looking at a private sale 996 turbo that has a porsche warranty on it. Would people here get it inspected (either via Peter Morgan or other reputable indy) or would you be happy with the fact it is warranted and forgoe any inspection (obviously carry out the HPI checks regardless)? All opinions appreciated....

Of course!!!!!! While you might have a warranty to cover the repairs, do you want the car in the shop for the year while they correct all the problems under warranty? PPI will also give you an idea of your upcoming costs that would not be warrantable issues allowing you to decide on the price / cost planning. Worn brake discs are not warranty but will cost you more than you may wish to spend early on etc. ALWAYS Pre-Purchase Inspection (PPI). The likes of JZ Machtech etc are good for it....
