Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I would like to be able to close my 996C2 windows remotely with the car key. I can open the windows with the car key by holding the car key button down for a while when I open the doors. However, the same doesn't seen to work when I try closing the doors and holding the button to close the windows. Am I doing something wrong? :frustrated:

POST 2Original post

There is a solution to this apparently: It's called buying a pre-facelift 996    Sorry - not very helpful, but true... The facility was removed on facelift models for 'Nanny State' ooops, sorry, 'Safety' reasons.

POST 4Original post

Think the SMARTtop people do a facility for this. I'm buying a chip for my Cab which lets me raise and lower the hood whilst moving, something I cannot believe was omitted. I'm sure they do another variant for doors and windows that des what you want.

POST 6Original post

Yes they do. And it's called the RemoteTop. Drop me a line if you have any questions on any of the SmartTop/RemoteTop products as I distribute for the UK --> see http://www.higheroctane.com/remotetop996.html

POST 9Original post

It used to work on my old Targa. Press & hold when locking - windows would go up and the roof closes.
