Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

The owner posted it in my local TIPEC FB group last night. Not my bag, like putting a pair o rubber tits and a bag over't head of a decent looking MILF. I'd prefer to stick to the au natural, however ugly folk may think.
Hahah love your analogy there Alex. To be fair beauty is in the eye of the beholder as they say. Tbh I'm not a fan of a plain Jane, I always did like a tarty looking MLF lol
Ask yourself if you would be happy with a fake Rolex on your wrist? Just buy a 997 if that's what you want and put skirts on it, at least it will be what is says on the tin
But it's still a 911. You can't win I guess with some people now assuming you won't agree with this but most people don't like the 996 because of the way it looks and the headlights. Personally I like the head lights I'm just not a fan of a 996 with out an aero kit they look a little too plain Jane to me. Base wise the car appears to be sorted and photo wise it does look good I personal feel it looks way better than a bog standard 996 despite it trying to look like anything else. You could argue with your reference why did people in the 80's and 90's forward date their 911's to look like 964's or 993's or even make them into RS tribute cars or put other aftermarket wide body kits on them. People are now back dating their cars so I guess you can't win either way!
A 996 C2 is a thing of beauty. Money has been spent on this though, but it's not for me. I understand his argument, but if you are that fussed what the community or others think, just buy a 997. 99% of 996 owners love the lights and the looks, and your opinion is the only one that matters...
Re: Highly Modified Porsche 996 with a 997 GT3 & Turbo b The purist in me says that I should hate this car with a vengeance .......... but I don't. It's not my cup of tea but I fully appreciate the time and money someone has put into building it up to their own unique spec'. Compared to most cars of this ilk it doesn't look too bad at all.
Terrible mongrel. And that interior is totally out of place with that exterior. Also non-Porsche people don't give a damn about the 996 lights. It's a 911 and people love it, smile and start conversations etc. You don't like it? Don't buy it then, simple. Now imagine having to reply to "nice 997!" with "well actually it's a 996, but I changed this and that" every time...
I don't get why someone has gone to all that effort and then left the door handles and mirrors? Still at least it's not a cat c / auto / cabrio like most of the Street RS conversions
Hilarious thread :floor: terrible photos in ebay ad. Not my bag, but each to their own (& their money)
I'd be huffed if I found it, let alone paid for it. It's dimensionally all to pot, as these creations always are. Buy a 996 or if as you say, you don't like the headlights, buy a 997. Buying some Frankenstein bitsa seems to be the worst of both worlds. Weird RS wish-it-was looks with standard 996 performance. A sheep in wolf's clothing. But as said, to each their own. There must be a tiny (dare I say bit chavvy) market for that though, come sale time.
I sort of agree with this. I think the front looks ok, but the back end just looks weird. Personally, If I was doing any conversion on a 996, it would be to retro fit a 997 interior to it. If you think that's bad, feast your eyes on this... https://www.facebook.com/marketplac...wse_serp:a8958afd-651c-49f3-a60b-54790434d8db
urghhhh! why?? :dont know:
Yeah I empathise with the critiscisms tbh. But each to their own. Personally I adore the 996 C2, I think the headlights are great (RSR, GT1, 919). I also love the fact that it is still an analogue sports car with none of the nanny crap (my opinion), it is small light agile and still fast enough for fun on the road. Back to the OP point, given what I wrote above I still realise that I am probably going to be owned by some 3 litre family diesel these days so personally I would feel embarrassed to have all of the racing looking bits and bobs.
Looks like it's sold either way 😅🤦"♂ï¸
