Hi, A big thankyou to all who contributed to my thread. I am now the proud owner of a seal grey 996tt. LE02WVH sits imposingly in the garage and I am like a 10 year old with the best bike on the block. Its in Seal Grey, 29k on the clock and the vendor kindly carried out a 12k service, had it inspected and put a 12 month OPC warranty on. I am fairly happy with the price (44K) and look forward to the summer months and trying to hold on to my license - god its quick. I expect to be a regular on the site - but thanks again all.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Sounds very nice (I think Seal Grey is the best colour but I may be a tad biaised  ) and a keen price too - I am sure you will have many many mile of enjoyment
nice one, I have the same mota on a 52. the velocity continues to impress a year on. Cruise control is a wonderful thing for keeping your licence intact. Mine has 25k on and if I got 46k tomorrow I'd be reasonably happy so I think you did well. I hear it's a buyers market etc etc but don't worry a bout all that rubbish, enjoy it
Nice motor, i nearly bought a TT. Just out of interest the thread says "996TT vs 997" did i miss something! Surely the Thread should be "I HAVE A 996TT & Will Lose my licence soon!" Congrats on the purchase :thumb:
He was contemplating buying a 997 C2S (I think) before he bought the TT but wanted everyone's opinions on what they thought. ~ Maxie
Personally I think the 996tt is an overated piece of junk. They are sluggish, unreliable, look stupid, massively expensive to maintain. no fun at all to drive and smell of cheese. Could you please all stop buying them. It wasn't that long ago that mine was one of only a handful on the forum
Hah! And when you climb into your new white 997 GT3 you'll be advising us the opposite Dave! ~ Maxie
Agreed ... However, I'll be prepared to do swapsies with you. That's the kind of guy I am.
Yes, nearly a 3 year old 997. And with my tt sitting outside - how happy am I? Not very - the bonnet is up and I am recharging the battery! Not certain why it discharged - if that IS the problem. The usual ticking sound on turning the key. I recall turning the PCM off while the CD was changing. Anyway I'll let you know. No comments from you 997 guys please!! :nooo:
