Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My PCM is playing up. Its an intermittent problem which is most annoying. I've taken it to a Porsche dealer who plugged it into their computer only to be told everything was fine (well it just happened to be working ok then!). The problem is that I get an error message saying that the phone, CD changer, and amplifier is not available, basically I have no sound at all. I've changed the fuse, rebooted the PCM and I still get the intermittent problem. Porsche have said I can bring the car in and they will spend a few days stripping down the PCM bit by bit to try and isolate the problem but this all sounds very expensive to me and I've only recently spent £2,500 on some new radiators so money is tight! My gut feeling is that there is a problem with either a connection to the amplifier or the amplifier is on its last legs. Any help, advice would be welcome, I don't even know where the amplifier is!! Regards, Jason.
