I saw a 987.2 Cayman recently that had much more rake in the front than the back. Maybe 1/2 " top of tire to fender lip in the front and 1.5 " gap in the rear. The tires and rims appeared to be stock 18'. The owner said he recently had the Cayman R aftermarket package installed, and didn't think this was unusual. I have my eye on a stock Cayman R and know it doesn't have that kind of rack. Any one have any ideas of what might be the cause of this difference in the rake? Just curious if anyone has any experience with the R retrofit, and if this or normal or desirable/ Possibly a parts mismatch or installation snafu???Thanks

I wonder if he did the R front suspension but not the rear? What you describe sounds like a spring mismatch.
Or that Cayman had springs from off shore that said R but in reality were knock offs. That look causes over steer. A level look is the best as it reduces front understeer.
OP here’s a profile pic of an S with all of the CR suspension bits installed. There’s a little bit of rake.
Arch, Could you take a picture that shows a level picture where the camera is lower about the top of the wheel arches. Then if we could get the same angle from a P9 member who has a R with the same camera angle. Those Leggera HLT are the best looking version I have seen. Look almost polished. They also allow the brake rotors to show their silver shine and the red calipers to appear matched to your paint. Great work. I wish I had the energy to detail my car like yours. This is exactly where pictures make a difference.
Hey thanks man! I can’t take credit for the sheen as late last year I splurged on a professional full paint correction / ceramic coating and holy cow the finish is amazing! The even took the wheels off and did everything in the wheel wells, too. Incredible work. (Vive Detailing in Houston, in case any locals are looking for the same service.) I’m away from the car for a bit so can’t take a better pic, but I found this one taken from a lower angle… 🍻
Thanks for the Posts so far ...here is a pic of the rake on the car in question top pic is front, bottom pic is rear. Should be drop of about 20 mm for both, but front is more .I looked at a part diagram and there is spacer that could be missing in front...996 343 511 01 ? any thoughts Thanks
Still trying to figure this out, but think I have a lead on this problem.Front R springs on this car have paint color yellow orange white.one very reputable source said the color should be just yellow orange.car is a 2009, MT, std. chassis, no PASM . Does anyone have or know of a spring color code chart for Cayman 's. Reputable sources say installation is correct, Front spring height seems to be the problem, but can't get more details on the correct spring.Does anyone have any experience with this....Thanks
Here's my 2009 with Cayman R springs and Bilstein B8 shocks.
What I like about your picture is the rear stance has very little rake. This means that you should be able to put a litttle more power down without inner wheel spin. Keep in mind Cayman 's do not have LSD except for the "R" to control inner wheel spin. So a little more weight by less rake over the rear wheels does this by slightly adding traction.
