Hello everyone, First time poster here. I have a 1999 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet (996), and the interior headliner has begun to separate along the edges. It appears the adhesive has failedpossibly after going through an automatic car wash. The separation is limited to an inch or two around the perimeter. An installer advised that the Velcro tension straps have deteriorated and that replacing them would require removing the entire headliner, with costs approaching $1,500. Im considering the following options: Re-gluing the existing headliner Removing the headliner entirely Replacing it with a new one Has anyone faced this issue? What adhesive or repair method worked best, and is removal a practical temporary solution? Thank you in advance for your advice. Dave

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
