Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've searched for some ideas but can't see anything related. Yesterday I noticed my gear change was getting 'heavier'. It was taking more force to select a gear. It's not the cold oil issue as the car was fully warmed up and had been driven for a good 45min. I recently had a shorter shift fitted and everything felt great, really smooth and precise. That was last wednesday and things felt fine till yesterday after a marathon wash and wax. There's no clutch slip and pedal travel is good. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

POST 2Original post

Sounds like your clutch to me. When was it last done?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The clutch is good, no problems at all with it, was in for it's major 24k service last week and no mention of it either :?

POST 4Original post

I sometimes have problems getting my car (997) into first gear - either have to come back into 2nd then push forward into first. Any thoughts on this? My car is 12 months old with 9k miles.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Apparently most do that, I was taught to do the 2nd to 1st movement on a driver training day with Bernard Aubrey. It's not that though as it does it on all gears, maybe a little less on 5th and 6th. I don't mean notchy either, it's fairly smooth just 'heavy' to get into gear.

Stuart, sorry I haven't helped answer your Question however thanks for putting my mind at rest on my attempted thread hijack :thumb:
