i am looking for protective plastic film to cover paintwork where a roof rack rubs slightly i want something fairly thick and lasting but that can be removed easily with solvent if required and will NOT damage the paintwork any suggestions for the best product ? thanks
Maybe if you dropped by a place that does that 3M stone chip protective film stuff and ask for some off-cuts? I guess you only need a thin 10mm strip or so? As long as you lubricated the area where the roof rack contacts the surface you should be OK. Failing that what about the clear stone protectors off the wheel arches of a 944 which will be a bit thicker?
